Hairball-May the Rock be with You!

hb 8x10 color btn 150x150 Hairball May the Rock be with You!“Hairball is a fabulous disaster on ice,” says Happy; the guitarist of Hairball.

On February 11th Hairball will celebrate their 12th Anniversary with a fan appreciation show dubbed the “12th in’12″ at the Doubletree hotel in Bloomington. Opening the show will be Rock Camp for Dads and another local favorite; Pop Rocks. Advanced ticket holders are invited to a personal meet and greet that will take place between 7-8p in the hotel lobby.

Who is Hairball? Well, if one hasn’t heard of them already, this Minnesota-based band started out as a novelty; spoofing acts such as Heart, Whitesnake, and KISS. In 12 years they’ve completely saturated the local music scene, they’ve gained an enormous fan base and made it their personal mission to present the public with the best rock n’ roll show as it was back in 70’s and 80’s. Conceived originally by former band member Chainsaw Caine (formerly of Slave Raider) Hairball has changed line-ups, added more songs, more lights, more explosives, and more snakes.. snakes? Yep, snakes.

The group features front men, Bobby Jensen, Kris Voxx, and new comer Joe Dandy who take on the personas of arena rock singers of the day. They alternate stage time, rapidly changing costumes between songs turning themselves into singing sensations such as Paul Stanley (KISS), David Lee Roth (Van Halen), and Steve Perry (Journey). Supported by human rubber band guitarist Mike “Happy” Schnieder, newly added bassist Randy “Freaky” Engebritson and drummer Blake “Colt Python” Seybolt, they emulate hard-rock acts such as KISS, Van Halen, Journey, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, AC/DC and Poison.

If hard core arena rock is your thing, come out to the Double Tree hotel on Saturday, February 11th to celebrate the “12th in 12” fan appreciation show with Hairball and have your senses assaulted with a night of good old fashioned, butt shakin’, hip swivelin’, fist pumpin’, rock n’ roll!
