Raz DROID BEHAVIOR aka ACID CIRCUS - LOS ANGELES, CA TECHNO

www.droidbehavior.com www.residentadvisor.net/dj/acidcircus

Check out this interview with Raz aka ACID CIRCUS here:
http://www.youtube.com/watchvb7y9DcHCEAE

Los Angeles born and bred, Vangelis and Vidal Vargas were raised in the 80s on a steady diet of Latin freestyle, electro, and new wave that pervaded their urban environment. Their father also exposed them to cutting edge progressive acts Vangelis, Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk, planting early seeds for aural exploration. By the mid 90s they were sampling LAs underground club scene and heavily researching electronic musics roots. After years of influence they began to express their musical vision through their own recordings and performances. Vidal and Vangelis eventually found common ground with producer / performer Drumcell, and in 2002 they formed the Droid Behavior event production group and record label out of frustration with the citys lack of knowledge, acceptance, and understanding for Midwest-bred techno and house music and their European counterparts.

As producers Vangelis and Vidal have released and licensed original music and remixes under various aliases most notably Acid Circus and Raz on the Droid Recordings imprint as well as respected labels Historia y Violencia, Tora Tora Tora, DJMag, Music Man, Resident Advisor, Enemy Rec, Gynoid, Reloading, Micro.Fon and Timefog. Their music has been charted, played and supported by Speedy J, Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, DVS1, Levon Vincent, Jonas Kopp, etc.

Their intense and inspiring performances have placed them alongside major players Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Dan Bell, Surgeon, Sandwell District, Robag, Paco Osuna, Pan Pot, Marco Carola, Detroit Grand Pubahs, and Berghain Residents at undergrounds, festivals, after hours, and club nights from North and South America to Berlin.

Raz fully harness the capabilities of Traktor, Ableton, and Maschine technology to create a thick blend of Detroit influenced techno and gritty house. They take cues from years of classical training to infuse dynamic musical expression with a delicate balance of mixing board acrobatics and symbiotic intuition. Years of production experience inform their Live PA / Digital DJ hybrid approach, which uses each tracks core essentials to form a narrative arch for every unique set. Their releases follow suit and take only key elements from each rhythmic style to shape simplistic and deep music that captures their diverse influences and personal impressions.

NOSTALGIA Play Me, Betamorph, ELEPHAT BEATZ - DUBSTEP

www.facebook.com/dnbnostalgia www.soundcloud.com/nostalgia

Andrew Hill, aka Nostalgia, was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on Valentines day 1990. He lead a very musical life learning piano, guitar, drums, voice, and Irish penny whistle believe the hype. After winning numerous music awards and releasing the Dark and Light album in high school, Nostalgia went on to continue his music education at McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN.

During his time at McNally, Nostalgia honed his mixing and production skills by getting in to the studio, recording bands, and mastering albums. Before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Production December 2011, Nostalgia already established himself in the global music scene with several big releases. "Muse - Knights of Cydonia Nostalgia Dubstep Remix" was his breakout hit which scored over 2.6 million views on YouTube video has been recently removed due to copyright violations. Bouncing off the success of that remix, Nostalgia worked with female dubstep duo Dirty Talk to win the "Vaski - Jelly" remix competition. Their remix got to 60 on the Beatport Electro charts but this was only the beginning of chart success for Nostalgia. With the newly made contacts at Play Me Records, specifically Reid Speed, Nostalgia released "The Hero EP" which featured an official music video by MotionGraff and quickly climbed the charts upon its release. "Serious Coin", the B side of the release, got to 11 on the Beatport Dubstep top 100 chart while the title track got all the way to 3.

Recently, Nostalgia just released his collab LP with singer/songwriter Aami, "Nostalgia & Aami - The Outlaster LP". This LP was intended to push boundaries and expand on the new sounds of dubstep. The Title track "Outlaster" is a fusion of rock and dubstep that breaks genre conventions while still remaining to be a dancefloor smasher. Five of the Seven tracks on the album charted on beatport and the LP overall reached 14 on the Beatport Top 100 Dubstep Releases chart.

In the time of about a year, Nostalgia went from unknown to consistent headliner and has played shows in Minneapolis, Madison, Providence, Saint Louis, Chicago, and many more. A true producer AND dj, Nostalgia brings his absolute best to production and his live show wowing audiences coast to coast.

MIKE G System - MINNEAPOLIS, MN - TECHNO

mikegervais.com

Mike Gervais hails from Minneapolis, but his home is the booth of a darkened club, dutifully working behind the decks. The icy terrain of the north has blossomed from flyover country into a hotbed of techno talent, and Mike has carried on a local tradition of excellence by drawing a straight line between solid performances and steady studio output. An ear for propulsive rhythms and a penchant for bleeding-edge technology has allowed Gervais to translate a youth immersed in electronic music into success as a beat-slinging veteran.

In the 90s Mikes ravenous musical appetite evolved into notoriety as a wunderkind DJ, and he rose quickly to become a high-profile talent in a competitive scene. 2002 brought Mike the opportunity to team up with an established promoter, granting him the ability to host the best in Stateside and European talent as he continued to develop his individual style. A few years later, he would pay homage to his roots by coordinating a series of immersive late-night events, simultaneously forming the Timefog label in the process. Currently, Mike's SYSTEM events held at the legendary First Avenue nightclub have afforded him yet another opportunity to showcase a variety of local and global acts while retaining a classic Midwest warehouse feel.

Gervais took the time to develop his skill as a promoter but it never halted his advancement as a performer. After mastering a three-turntable setup, Mike continued to look for ways to further his live presence. An early adopter of both Final Scratch and all-digital performance methods, Gervais has now bridged the gap between his past and his future by working on a hybrid rig that synthesizes the freedom and control afforded by digital technologies with the comfort and visual flair of traditional turntables.

The move towards live looping and custom edits eventually led Mike to the studio, where he swiftly took to music production and remix work. His tracks have made an impression with techno artists across the world, receiving praise from Chris Liebing, Bryan Zentz, Dave Clarke, Tommy Four Seven, Tim Xavier, Dustin Zahn, Richie Hawtin, and more. While Mike considers his studio work to be in its infancy, a position on top artists' charts was quickly established.

Even as his productions continue to receive global acclaim, Gervais would rather be in front of a crowd than a keyboard. Versatility and a willingness to adapt have brought Mike to the forefront of the North American techno community, but his desire to put on a great show hasnt wavered since he first touched a turntable. With dedication, experience, and a urge to redraw the boundaries of his craft, Mike Gervais has earned his reputation as a hardworking Midwest artist committed delivering the music that moves him to audiences everywhere.

PUNKMASTERTECHS ONE VIBE PRODUCTIONS HAPPY HARDCORE

Minneapolis based DJ PunkMasterTechs has been rocking stages in Minneapolis and the surrounding mid-west with the pounding sounds of cheesy happy hardcore since early early 2006.

Originally signing on with the now defunct but still incredibly loved DC Productions www.dc-productions.net, The PMT had his hand in helping to throw some of the largest, most musically diverse and most successful events seen by the Minneapolis rave scene since before 2000. Having briefly lent a hand with Darkness Hosting and High Frequency Productions, his only listed affiliation is still DC Productions.

Finding himself unsatisfied with the lack of large, multi-genre, all night events PMT has refocused his efforts back into the music and the scene that brought him up. His brainchild, One Vibe Productions has begun doing just that. Having hosted a very successful fundraising event in September of 2011 at a local nightclub and a hugely successful return to multi-room, all night events with 'Tis the Season' in early December 2011, expect big things in 2012 from The PMT and One Vibe Productions.
