Clarence Wesley Jones A.k.A O-Lay, a moniker given to him by a childhood friend, is an aspiring newcomer to the Twin Cities music scene. The thought provoking young poet began writing at age 11 and has since been sharpening his skills and awaiting his opportunity to emerge. Hailing from Augusta, G.A., though Suprisingly more influenced by northern and mid-west artist, O-Lay refers to his music as vivid depictions of realistic scenarios rather than songs. "I don't write albums. I write movies. Th.. More >>ey just happen to fit well with a beat." he says.
After graduating from Youth Challenge Military Academy and later receiving his commercial pilot's license from Transpac Aviation Academy, O-Lay decided to pursue a career in music. His passion took him across the continent to McNally Smith's College of Music, where he encountered his musical co-worker "Diatonic" and began working on his third project "The Set List" an overall lighthearted album themed around a live performance at a venue.
"I just want to stay humble and make relatable music that people can not only hear but also feel." was his response when asked what he wants from his music, and truthfully that goes without saying for him. Soft-spoken by nature but out-spoken behind a microphone, O-lay plans to create meaningful pieces and bring the style the he has been tirelessly crafting to the attention of all who will listen. Will he be successful I supposed we will be the judges of that, but either way he won't be stopping. That's for certain.
