A Conscious Divide ACD is a new breed of alternative metal bands from the Twin Cities Minnesota. The band appeals to fans of both rock, metal, hardcore, and combining elements of progressive music and beyond. They are creating waves in the community with the release of their EP By Way of Morning Light, released in August 2011.
A Conscious Divide was first formed by Derek Qualle and Lance Guy Ladoosh Loverink in 2008. Soon after, Derek and Lance recruited mutual friend Justin Steink.. More >>e to play drums. After writing a handful of songs and playing a couple of shows as a three piece, ACD soon decided to audition bass players. While continuing to write songs and perform, the band ended their search for a bass player shortly after meeting Jason Michael. With the band now complete its was time for A Conscious Divide to shake up the Twin Cities music scene.
While starting pre production for By way of Morning Light, Justin learned his girlfriend would soon be carrying his seed. In light of this new information Justin would finish the EP but would ultimately leave the band. With the album finished and no drummer, A Conscious Divide met drummer Adam Ferris and have continued to progress with Adam by their side.
While a new page turns for A Conscious Divide, the future looks bright. On November 12th, ACD will be opening for the long respected band Mastodon at the Rave in Milwaukee. 2012 looks to be a break out year for the band as they set their sights high and hope to be the next big band of the coming years.
